Juice Fast Flub

:From a web surfer who found the article on the Master Cleanse

“Hi, I really like your post, because I am trying to educate myself more about fasting since I watched “Food Matters” and “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.” In the second movie, he fasts mainly on green juices from vegetables. I find it more rational, but you say that juice fast is also not a good option?”

In “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead,” the guy did a great job making a documentary, and I’m happy he shed his pounds. He was wise to cut out all the junk food, processed food, refined flour, dairy, and meat during his fast. He was selling his juicer though, and that I’m not happy about.

Juicers take out all of the fiber. You can’t get enough fiber today. Throughout our evolution, we’ve eaten tons more fiber than we do now – and the lack of it is contributing to our chronic poor health. It cleans the colon, binds toxins like Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) that are excreted through bile into the intestines for removal from the body, and stabilizes blood sugar. High fiber diets have been proven to lower the risk of colon cancer (likely from cleansing and binding toxins), heart disease (by helping to regulate bile acids and cholesterol), and digestive problems like diverticulosis.

If that guy in the movie would have eaten exactly the same cleansing food but with the fiber, he would have lost the same amount of weight. Fiber isn’t absorbed into the body and so doesn’t contribute to the caloric load. And he would have been a lot happier. Fiber makes you feel full! Why suffer from juicing when you can eat the same food in the package nature designed?

There’s a lesson that man doesn’t seem to learn – that messing with the perfection of the grand design when it comes to food only hurts us in the long run. Think refined flour, hydrogenated fat, and Roundup-ready crop seeds – and there are many more examples. Distorting foods now that we have electricity and fancy machines to remove fiber doesn’t make for an improvement on thousands of years of harmony with our environment. Eat nutritious, detoxifying whole fruits and vegges with the fiber intact.

I am in mumbai and considering attending this workshop led here on fruits diet.
I would only consider doing this during summertime or when in tropical climates. But even that I am a bit sacred of. ..scared of going hungry…

      Thanks in advance and regards,
